SAY NO TO
AMBIGUOUS
‘HATE CRIME’
lAWS

Despite canning unworkable and unpopular 'hate speech' laws at the beginning of their term, Paul Goldsmith has instructed the Law Commission to prepare advice on creating 'hate crime' laws in New Zealand.

But, there is far too much room for ideological interpretation when deciding if a crime constitutes as ‘hateful’ and to what extent.

For the same reasons tens of thousands of Kiwis rejected ‘hate speech’ laws, we must reject ‘hate crime’ laws.

We have until March 13th to coordinate a strong response. Don’t let the Government introduce subjectivity into the rule of law in New Zealand.
MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD

What’s the deal with ‘Hate Crime’ laws?

The Law Commission wants recommendations on specific ‘hate crime’ offences.

There is no logical reason to support ‘hate crime’ laws but reject ‘hate speech’ laws.

They both come from the same faulty assumption that the government can simply make ‘hate’ illegal.
Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia have each shown the folly of trying to address ‘hate’ in this way, let’s not fall prey to the same mistake.
